Description
An easy and flavorful pulled chicken recipe made in a crockpot, perfect for weeknight dinners or gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 lbs Boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 1/4 cup Barbecue sauce (preferably sweet Baby Ray’s Honey BBQ)
- 1/2 cup Italian dressing (fat-free recommended)
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 cup Light brown sugar
- 1 tbsp Garlic powder
- 1 tbsp Onion powder
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Spray the inside of a large crockpot with non-stick cooking spray. Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder, then place them at the bottom of the crockpot.
- Mix the barbecue sauce, Italian dressing, light brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce in a medium bowl until well combined. Pour this mixture over the chicken, ensuring they are well coated.
- Cover the crockpot and cook on high for 150-180 minutes or low for 300-360 minutes, until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
- Shred the chicken in the crockpot if desired, allowing it to soak up the sauce. Serve on buns, salads, or as a topping for various dishes.
Notes
For juicier chicken, consider using thighs instead of breasts. Adjust the sweetness by varying brown sugar amounts. Don’t overcook to prevent dryness.
